Introduction to [ REDAKTED ]

Hi there! I am Redacted, or stylized as [ REDAKTED ] if you wished to. Honestly, I picked the name Redakted because I can't really think of any other cool, nice, and memorable name lol. That and I think it's sorta cool enough, and due to how dangerous leaking any IRL details on the internet is and how I need to hide it, I feel that name suits me well!

Anyways, I am just some ordinary person trying to live while learning, discovering, and enjoying things in this blue planet we call home.

Honestly, I'm not really a very talkative or extroverted person, but hey I don't mind making friends or talking with people sometimes! Just be aware that my replies could be very slow, or I would be so absorbed with IRL stuffs I may be slow to update this site and talk with ya. I hope this doesn't happen too often though, so apologies if it happens so...

I'm a chill and friendly person, you could also talk to me about anything you want (but for politics and religion keep it to a minimum as best as you can), but I'm mostly dumb on pop-culture stuffs and may not really get the full reference on mainstream stuffs or have outdated views on it, so once again, apologies if I give a mostly confused reply or asking more questions about it lol

Interests and Hobbies

I have wide interests in various hobbies and stuffs, but admittedly I cannot say I am 100% proficient in all sadly, but I am still trying my best to dive deeper to it! Even if it means I have to juggle between hobbies, work, social, etc. But welp, that's just part of living your life, like it or not...

About This Site

The first time I discovered this site was when I was searching for a free webhosting for my personal site. Originally I came across Neocities, but soon I came across Nekoweb as well after seeing some sites on Neocities redirected their site to the Nekoweb domain. Agonizing over which is better, I ended up with Nekoweb here, due to it's cheaper pricing and freer file types. Still though, I still have plans on other static host providers like Github Pages, Cloudflare Pages, and more...

I built this site to act mostly as a storage for my future projects: arts, writing, programs/softwares, multi-media work, and more. This site acts as both a primary gallery and a backup for the projects in case the usual mainstream websites have those arbitrary policies would cause my works to be deleted over some minor nonsense or drama as I've seen on Twitter. This site is also a place I can write and share out my thoughts in the form of microblogs and articles, and other logs such as Achievement Hunting. While not exactly a purpose I had in mind, since Nekoweb and Neocities with other web apps such as Guestbook and Chat apps, I could also use this as a way to meet new peeps and make friends along the way, social media aside [I'm not into social media anymore anyway, for a very long time for personal reasons].

To build this site, I mostly used Visual Studio Code to do my programming work, with Zen Browser as my testing grounds for my website. Zen Browswer is a Firefox-based browser, so this site is coded with Firefox in mind. All of these are done in Windows 11, since it's the environment I'm simply most familiar with. Other resources include the good ol' W3Schools as a guide for HTML and CSS tags and codes, Bootstrap for the responsive page design [okay, not 100% mobile friendly yet, but still!], some off-brand Miniso keyboard which while nothing special works very well for the job, and of course my good ol' Lenovo LOQ 15 laptop that enabled this project to happen.

Website Roadmap

There will be more plans and ideas I would add to this list in the future, so this section might be updated time to time. But right now here are the ideas I have for my current site:

  • Complete Website Redesign: while I do love the computer terminal look of this site, I feel that it could be done better. For one, I feel that most pages are not unique enough: it's mostly reused codes since I'm lazy + lack of creative juice flowing for new HTML pages. One aspect of the website overhaul will be completely unique pages, reflecting the chaotic mix of aesthetics of the retro-webs.

  • Theme switcher: I have many webpage design I could incorporate to my future website, but I don't really wanna overwrite the theme with another one, so it'd be nice to allow theme switching function. Besides, it' also nice to showcase the different themes I could make too!

  • More Code Refactoring: the current code while sorta organized, I think I need to put certain classes and ID on only certain CSS files so future editing would be less confusing. That and reducing redundancies and the size of the file, and optimization of the webpage as a whole.

  • Dark & Light Theme Switcher: kinda redundant as it's just simplified theme switcher to me, but since almost every website has that feature and many people used that feature, I think it'd be great to implement it on my site.

  • Homegrown Forum and Commenting System: I'm not sure how far will my ability get to be able to create these two, but it would certainly be an interesting challenge to create and implement such features for my site, rather than relying too much on third-party ones.
